I’ve been seeing Vanessa for around 2.5 years, initially for support around family and domestic violence, but our sessions have grown to cover so much more - complex trauma, neurodivergence, parenting, family dynamics and supporting my child through her own trauma. Vanessa is warm, funny, direct, incredibly knowledgeable and completely non-judgemental. She makes you feel genuinely seen and understood, and has an incredible ability to remove shame from even the most difficult conversations. I can tell her absolutely anything. What sets Vanessa apart is that her sessions are genuine conversations. We actually unpack things together. She helps me understand myself, the why behind my thoughts and reactions, and educates me along the way. I leave with clarity rather than more to overthink. Over time, I’ve become calmer, more confident and more compassionate towards myself. I am continually learning to understand my experiences without allowing them to define me. For me, Vanessa really is different. You have someone in the conversation with you. She’s right there with you, and I’m incredibly grateful to have found her.

Can't recommend BJ and Vanessa highly enough - they are both skilled, knowledgeable, empathetic and supportive, wonderful people. Brainspotting is amazing. For anyone feeling stuck, broken, sad, struggling - this approach provides a way through. I found a safe and supportive environment here, and achieved real, tangible results.

BJ has an extensive knowledge of trauma and it's impacts on the brain and the body. I had not heard of brainspotting prior to making my first appointment, and honestly I was sceptical of it, but needed help with trauma.  BJ created a safe and supportive environment that allowed me to explore my thoughts and feelings without judgment, or trying to intellectualise them. What impressed me the most was the tangible impact of brainspotting. It is so different to other kinds of therapy, you don't sit and talk about traumatic events, it lets your brain process it. After a few sessions things got a bit better. Now 6 months in and my ability to deal with triggers and to emotionally regulate has improved beyond measure, am very grateful.

BJ is very skilled in her approach. I appreciated being affirmed, having emotions validated and the explanation of how those emotions can manifest in a physical expression.
